CKS College Showcases Chinese-Filipino Heritage as Sole Educational Partner at Inaugural ‘Manila, My Manila’ Tourism Expo 2026

Chiang Kai Shek College proudly participated as the sole Educational Partner Exhibitor representing the Chinese-Filipino community at the inaugural “Manila, My Manila” Tourism Expo 2026. Held from September 25 to 27 at the historic Foro de Intramuros, the three-day event was organized by the Manila Department of Tourism, Culture, and Arts to celebrate the capital’s rich cultural, historical, and educational landscape.
As the only Chinese-Filipino educational institution at the expo, CKS College highlighted its unique role in Manila’s diverse cultural tapestry. Led by the Marketing Communications Office under 吳嬪嬪主任 Ms. Josephine Yap, the college showcased its comprehensive academic pathway. CKS College holds the distinct honor of being the only Chinese Filipino school in the country offering a complete, unbroken educational journey from early childhood for toddlers as young as 1 year and 3 months, up to masteral programs Graduate Studies.
To actively engage the public, the CKS College booth featured an interactive traditional dice game associated with the Mid-Autumn or Mooncake Festival. Known locally in the Chinese-Filipino community as *Pua Tiong Chiu* (or *Boa Zhong Qiu*), this centuries-old game involves rolling dice to win traditional mooncakes and other prizes. The vibrant activity not only educated visitors about Chinese-Filipino traditions but also generated significant interest in the college’s Preschool, College, Graduate Studies, Language Center, and Developmental Studies programs. In line with the expo’s promotional spirit, interested enrollees were treated to exclusive special perks and promotional offers.
Beyond the exhibition floor, CKS College contributed to the expo’s main cultural showcase. On the final day, the CKS College Chinese Dance Troupe captivated the crowd with a performance of the traditional Dai Zhu Dance. Originating from the Dai ethnic minority in Yunnan, China, the dance is renowned for its graceful, fluid movements that mimic the elegance of a peacock and the flow of water. Sharing the stage with performers from across the Philippines and South Korea, the troupe’s performance underscored the college’s dedication to preserving and promoting Chinese cultural heritage.
The event also served as a practical learning ground for the college’s Tourism Management students, who assisted the marketing team in visitor engagement, communication, and promotional strategies.
“Participating in the ‘Manila, My Manila’ expo allowed us to share the rich Chinese-Filipino heritage that is deeply woven into the fabric of our capital,” said Ms. Josephine Yap, Head of the Marketing Communications Office. “It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community, celebrate our traditions, and showcase the comprehensive educational pathways we offer.”
The members of the marketing department, composed of James Lorenz P. Sudario, Sharwin Bucog, Glenda Manabat, Klarisse Cho, all gave their full support to make the school’s participation to this event a success.
Through its active participation, CKS College successfully bridged education, culture, and community, reinforcing its commitment to the vibrant, multicultural identity of Manila under the expo’s theme, “Manila, My Manila.”
