Chiang Kai Shek College Champions Educational Digitalization, Empowers Faculty with AI Insights at PCCCI Workshop

Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to educational innovation, Chiang Kai Shek College sent a delegation of faculty and administrators to the “AI Discovery Workshop: Unlocking the Path to AI Transformation” held last September 16, 2026. Hosted by the Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PCCCI) at the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, the event gathered over 200 leaders from the business, education, and medical sectors to explore the future of artificial intelligence.

CKS College’s delegation was carefully selected to represent key areas of school management and instruction. The team included Grade School Chinese Supervisor Mr. Ryan Chua Li Fong, alongside English instruction faculty members Rhejoel Joson, Fernando Mira, and Jude Sodusta. Representing the next generation of digital natives, Higher Education Division Information Technology student Duane Palmer Dy also attended, underscoring the College’s holistic approach to integrating AI across all levels of learning.

The workshop’s keynote was delivered by Mr. Karl Gao Haosen, Deputy Director of Computing Solutions at Huawei Technologies Philippines, Inc. An expert in cloud and AI computing with over a decade of enterprise architecture experience, Mr. Gao demystified the complex AI ecosystem for the audience. Utilizing accessible concepts like the “Tokens Factory” and the “Five-Layer Cake Framework,” he provided a clear overview of the global AI industry chain and the explosive growth of generative AI foundation models.

To illustrate AI’s practical capabilities, Mr. Gao conducted a live on-site demonstration, using AI to code a website and a game in a matter of minutes. This showcase highlighted how AI drastically lowers the barrier to entry for software development while amplifying human creativity and efficiency. He also detailed transformative AI applications in healthcare, including AI-assisted medical services, virtual human avatars, and real-time translation technologies.

The event concluded with a lively open forum, where CKS College representatives and fellow attendees engaged the speaker in robust discussions regarding practical AI integration, enterprise digital transformation, and the regulatory landscape of emerging technologies.

CKS College’s participation in this workshop is a direct reflection of its strategic roadmap for campus digitalization. Recognizing that AI is irreversibly reshaping curriculum design, pedagogy, and student assessment, the College has proactively positioned itself at the forefront of EdTech adoption.

This initiative builds upon a landmark strategic cooperation memorandum signed between CKS College and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. in May 2026. Through this partnership, the two institutions are collaborating on digital education, curriculum innovation, and talent cultivation, jointly exploring new frontiers where artificial intelligence and education intersect. Today’s workshop served as a practical extension of this strategic alliance.

Reflecting on the session, Grade School Chinese Supervisor Mr. Ryan Chua Li Fong emphasized the immediate, practical value the workshop provided to the faculty.

“This workshop was highly rewarding,” Mr. Chua shared. “Beyond deepening our understanding of the latest AI developments, it provided us with concrete strategies for applying these tools to our daily educational scenarios. For example, we now see clear pathways to use AI-assisted tools to help teachers prepare materials and design courses much more efficiently. Furthermore, utilizing AI virtual humans for language teaching and leveraging real-time translation can break down language barriers, greatly enhancing the interactivity and effectiveness of Chinese-language instruction.”

By broadening its faculty’s understanding of AI frontiers, CKS College has secured valuable inspiration for its ongoing digital transformation. As one of the premier Chinese-Filipino educational institutions in the Philippines, Chiang Kai Shek College remains dedicated to evolving alongside the times, working hand-in-hand with industry leaders to continuously innovate and elevate the standard of education in the country.
